How to Care for your Skin Every Day

May 7, 2019
Never underestimate the importance of your skin: its health, how it feels and how it looks. Our skin is our largest organ and one that we should take time to look after every day and in as many ways as we can.

The skin on your face often takes a real beating - which is unfortunate considering it’s often the first thing someone notices about you! Sun damage, dirt, make-up, cold weather, central heating, ageing… The list of what negatively affects your skin could go on! Whilst everyone has their own personal hang-ups about what they dislike about the skin on their face, there are several common issues that people often want to tackle:

  • Acne
  • Wrinkles
  • Uneven pogment
  • Signs of ageing

Whilst nature will take its course regardless, there are preventative and curative measures you can take to help revitalise and improve both the aesthetic and wellness of your skin. Here are some of our top tips on how to care for your skin every day:

Wash your face regularly

Excess dirt will cause your pores to block, thus causing acne. Not only does acne look and feel bad at the time, it can also cause lasting damage that can age and scar you. We recommend using a mild cleanser with a neutral pH to maintain your skin’s natural pH of around 5. If you have oily skin, try to find an oil-free cleanser and if you have dry skin, use glycerine or cream-based cleansers.

Avoid over-cleansing

Although it may sound like a catch 22, washing your face regularly is important, but so is not overdoing it! Soaps and prolonged exposure can take away your skin’s natural oil as well as imitating our skin and making it look dull. Be sure to not wash your hair more than twice a day unless becoming sweaty and dirty for whatever reason

Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Also known as botox, anti-wrinkle injections are a more radical but more effective way to tackle unwanted ageing than store bought products. It’s a unique aesthetic treatment that has become popular all over the world due to the fantastic and almost immediate results that it brings. Here at Skin Radiance, we offer an affordable option for those looking to make their skin firmer, soften wrinkles and make your skin look rejuvenated and younger.

Moisturise Daily

Moisturising your skin is key for keeping it hydrated. Not only can it firm your skin, it can reduce acne and prevent wrinkles. Use moisturiser even if your skin is oily (just make sure it’s oil-free) and if you’re aim is for younger looking skin, try a collagen and elastin boosting products as well as silicon and hyaluronic acid. One great tip we’ve encountered for help to naturally moisturise skin is by running a humidifier in your room at night!

Exfoliate your skin

Dead skin and debris easily settle into pores, fine lines and other textured blemishes. Not only can this cause acne, but can actually damage your skin too. Be sure to use a gentle exfoliator to remove any dirt that’s built up in your skin daily - we recommend using one with beads to minimise irritation and flannel to be sure it’s all washed away.

Dermal Fillers

Targeted at those looking for a subtle, natural looking result that helps to eliminate wrinkles, skin blemishes, scarring and restoring facial volume, Dermal Fillers will leave you looking radiant. The aim of Dermal Fillers is to put to sleep your insecurities and help to you feel back to your old self.
